Sentury Tire USA Inc. is showcasing its new rugged terrain tire at the 2018 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas.
The R/T tire gives Sentury Tire USA a full-line of Landsail passenger and light truck tires for the U.S. market. According to Executive Vice President Max Wee, the market demanded it.
"There's a segment of the market that wants something a little more aggressive than the A/T, but does not want to go all out for the M/T."
The CLX12 Rogueblazer R/T features the following:
* an aggressive pattern. The company says the chisel hammer and aggressive blocks provide "outstanding grip and traction" off-road.
* puncture and wear resistance. Protection bars in the grooves and a reinforced structure and material design improve the puncture resistance of the tire; a special formula and optimized void ratio give the tire excellent wear resistance.
* wet handling performance. The deep cut-through lateral grooves and multi-shape groove design improve wet handling. They also effectively discharges stones on gravel roads and improve snow traction performance.
* off-road performance. Strong shoulder blocks enhance traction in muddy, sandy or snowy conditions.
The R/T tire also has a "double sidewall" design. Customers have the option of either the "R" (for Rough) design shape for a more dynamic and aggressive look; the 'T" (for Tough) shape is more traditional.
The tire is available in 19 sizes. Eight are 12-ply Load Range F sizes ranging from 33x12.50R20 123R to LT325/45R24 127/124S. The other 11 are 10-ply Load Range E sizes ranging from LT285/75R16 126/123S to LT325/60R20 126/123S.
"For the late-model pickup trucks, you need an F-range tire to accomodate the load ratio and psi," said Sales Director Nick Gutierrez.
Landsail, Delinte and GroundSpeed tires will be on display at Sentury Tire's booth, No. 43119, through Nov. 1 at the Global Tire Expo in the Las Vegas Convention Center. Sentury Tire is a division of Qingdao Sentury Tire Co. Ltd.
