Continental Recalls 1,990 Conti Hybrid HS3 Tires

Oct. 1, 2018

Continental Tire the Americas LLC is recalling 1,990 Conti Hybrid HS3 Load Range H tires in size 11R22.5 because of potential rapid or slow pressure loss.

The voluntary safety recall affects tires produced from February 25 to April 7, 2018 (DOT weeks 0818-1318), and sold in the original equipment and replacement markets in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

The tire identification numbers (TIN) are A33T KWUY 0818 through 1318 and DOT date codes of 0818 through 1318.

Continental says the tires were identified as having a potential issue which could cause loss of internal pressure through the sidewall resulting in slow or rapid deflation.

Continental has not received any reports of injuries resulting from this condition.

Continental will notify tire owners. The company says tires with the affected DOT codes should be exchanged immediately.

Tires will be exchanged free of charge, including the cost of mounting, balancing, and service fees, through Dec. 11, 2018, and on a pro-rata basis after this date.

Owners of the affected tires are encouraged to complete the exchange as soon as possible.

Customers seeking more information, including instructions for identifying affected tires as well as obtaining replacement tires, are asked to contact their local Continental sales representative or contact Continental customer service. For the U.S. market, the contact number is toll-free 1 (800) 726-7113.
