Cooper sponsors $1 million fundraiser for children’s hospitals

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. hopes to help raise $1 million for Children’s Miracle Network, an international non-profit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals throughout North America.

From March 1 through May 30, Cooper, Pirelli, Mastercraft, Starfire, Roadmaster and Dean brand tire dealers will conduct a “Miracle Balloon” promotion. Participating dealers will solicit donations from their customers of $1 or more. The name of the person making the donation will go on a paper balloon that will be displayed in the dealer’s store. Cooper expects 2,000 of its dealer locations will participate.

Money collected by the dealers will stay in the area in which it is raised to support the nearest Children’s Miracle Network-affiliated hospital. “This new partnership provides Cooper Tire and its participating dealers the opportunity to give back to the individual communities that have supported our business for so many years,” said Tom Dattilo, Cooper’s chairman, president and CEO.

In addition, Cooper will add a matching donation to benefit The Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children in Orlando, Fla.
