TRIB Board Is Expanding and Searching for Members

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) is looking for industry leaders who want to serve on the board of directors.

The board includes representatives from retread, tire repair, and supplier companies. Those members help provide the vision, direction and policy leadership for TRIB. Board members are elected to a two-year term, and terms are renewable.

The board meets up to 10 times a year. Most meetings are held via teleconference. At least two of the meetings are held in person. The group meets in mid-March, usually before the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky., and in early November ahead of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nev. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, all board members are expected to attend the two face-to-face TRIB board meetings at their expense.

Board members are not compensated for their roles.

The TRIB board may include a number of committees and board members are encouraged to participate in committees of their interest. Committee meetings normally are held via teleconference. Board members also may engage in special projects such as reviews of the by-laws and strategic planning.

TRIB is looking to expand the size of its board (it currently has 16 members), so there could be five or more seats to fill.

How to apply to serve on the TRIB board

All interested candidates need to submit an email of interest as outlined below. The letter should be received by May 31st via email at info@retread.org.

To be considered for a seat on the board, candidates need to provide the following information:   

  • Name
  • Title
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Current employer name and address
  • Total years of experience in the retread/repair industry
  • A statement that addresses, in 100 words or less, responses to the following questions:

1. What is your view of TRIB as an organization?            
2. What is your vision for TRIB?            
3. What will you do, as a board member, to advance TRIB’s goals?            
4. As our industry changes, what should TRIB do to remain a vital and relevant organization in the retreading and repair industry?
