TBC Corp. subsidiary Tire Kingdom Inc. has acquired Paul Lewis Discount Tire & Auto Service, a 10-store retail chain based in Jacksonville, Fla., with more than $8 million in annual sales.
Tire Kingdom acquired 14 stores in December: two Wildcat Tire outlets in Georgia, two B&C Tire stores in Florida and 10 Lucas Tire shops in Louisiana. Lucas Tire was the largest independent tire retailer in the New Orleans area.
"We look forward to extending our presence in many new geographical areas," says Tire Kingdom President and CEO Orland Wolford.
"Our plans are to continue expanding the Tire Kingdom system by opening new locations and completing other strategic acquisitions," says Larry Day, TBC's CEO and president.
With 173 stores employing more than 2,000 employees in four southeastern states, Tire Kingdom is the sixth largest independent tire store chain in North America.
