Point S Is Expanding Into Western Canada

Jan. 22, 2018

A partnership with North Country Tire Distributors Ltd. in Alberta will help Pneus Unimax expand the Point S footprint into western Canada.

North Country Tire, with two distribution locations in Edmonton and Calgary, also operates one retail store. The company will rebrand that store under the Point S banner, and will work to sign up between 10 to 15 new Point S locations each year. North Country Tire is the first distributor in western Canada to join Point S. (There are 28 Point S distributors in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.)

Some of North Country Tire's existing wholesale customers are joining Point S as well. Each one will have to meet the quality restrictions and territory protections set by Point S.

“This is a unique partnership for our company,” says Cory Davis, president of North Country Tire. “As a banner, Point S provides us a large toolbox that can be put to good use by our dealers. They will have access to the many benefits of the brand to differentiate themselves in their communities and to increase both their presence and their sales.

"At the same time, the arrival of the Point S banner brings new manufacturer relationships adding to our existing strong partnerships. The success of the Point S banner, compounded with our expertise, competitive prices and exceptional service will assuredly create the most attractive platform for a dealer seeking to boost their sales and grow awareness in their area.”

Bruno Leclair, CEO and president of Point S Canada, says, “This agreement will allow us to consolidate our presence in western Canada and offer a stress-free alternative to consumers. What’s more, all our points of sale are run by experienced entrepreneurs who remain self-managed within the largest network of independent retailers in the world.”

There are more than 202 Point S retail locations in Canada, and more than 3,400 points of sale in 32 countries across the world.
