TirePAC announces fundraising events

Oct. 23, 2011

The Tire Industry Association Political Action Committee (TirePAC) will be conducting a number of fundraising activities at the annual Tire Industry Association (TIA) annual membership meeting and welcome reception. The meeting will be held at The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev., on Monday, Oct. 31, prior to the 2011 Global Tire Expo-Powered by TIA.

“TirePAC is working hard taking the silent auction and "PAC Board" (raffle) to the next level,” says TIA President Mike Berra. For the silent auction, TirePAC has secured a very special item: a three night stay and airfare for two to Los Angeles, Calif., for the 2012 ESPY Awards.

TirePAC will be displaying additional silent auction items on Oct. 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at its host hotel, The Cosmopolitan.

TirePAC has an added twist for its PAC Board this year. The first place winner will have a choice: two NFL regular season tickets to the game of his or her choice, or a $500. There also will be second and third place winners.

"Building support in Washington is essential for the tire industry to have the impact to defend the industry and its members’ interests," says Randall Groh, chairman of TIA's Government Affairs Committee.

"By contributing to and promoting the Silent Auction and PAC Board, our members’ grant TIA the opportunity to be involved and communicate our concerns in crafting public policy. And since 2012 is an election year, TirePAC contributions will be leveraged to their fullest extent.”
