This weekend, the DTM will be racing at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo on the outskirts of the Spanish city of Valencia for the second time after 2010. The race track has been built as a stadium and thus provide great viewing for the spectators and an extraordinary flair.
The 4.005 kilometres long circuit is being driven counter-clockwise and requires a lot from drivers and cars. After the fast turn one, that is being taken in fourth gear, further demanding combinations of corners, some with varying camber, follow.
At the twisty track, the brakes and good traction are particularly important. A key part is the entry into the final section. In corner twelve, it is important to place the car correctly in order to take a lot of speed into the chicane and the long left-hand corner.
Hankook is coming to Valencia with good experience from pre-season winter test sessions. The coarse-pored asphalt provides a lot of grip. With the high temperatures that are typical in Spain, another important factor will be using the high level of consistency of the Hankook tires with a good set-up.
