Yokohama adds Tires 101 to video series

Sept. 13, 2011

Yokohama Tire Corp. has posted its fourth "Tire Tips" video on YouTube. The latest installment, called Tires 101, explains the difference between summer, winter and all-season tires.

The consumer-friendly educational video series was launched in 2010. The new video is hosted by Fred Koplin, Yokohama director of marketing communications.

“When it comes to tires, consumers have heard the terms ‘summer,’ ‘winter’ and ‘all-season,’ but they may not necessarily know what the terms mean,” he says. “In this video, we explain, in an easy-to-follow format, the differences between the three tires and the driving conditions they are best suited for.”

The 1 1/2-minute video, shot at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, Wash., during a recent Yokohama dealer ride and drive, features Yokohama’s S.drive summer tire,  iceGuard winter tire, and Avid ENVigor all-season tire to highlight Koplin’s points.

“The Tire Tips series was created to increase consumer awareness and educate the public about tires,” he says. Future Tire Tips topics will include maximizing fuel efficiency and "shopping for tires in a tough economy."”
