Sept. 1, 2011

Hankook Tire Europe says it will present cutting-edge tire solutions and an exciting program at the 64th International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, Germany, Sept. 15-25, 2011.

The company will present world premieres in premium Ultra High Performance (UHP) tires, as well as next generation winter tires. Hankook will also debut a new concept tire specifically designed for electric vehicles.

Hankook’s new UHP tire, the Ventus S1 evo2, will be available in spring 2012 in 17- to 19-inch sizes, series 45 to 35 and cover tread width from 215 to 275. The Ventus S1 evo2 will be ready to fit car segments from high powered compact cars to luxury limousines and sports cars.

Hankook will also premiere its new generation of advanced winter tires for the European market. The Hankook Winter i*cept RS has been designed specifically with a view on the EU tire labeling regulations, which will take effect in 2012. The Winter i*cept RS features low rolling resistance, reduced running noise and high wet traction.

In addition to its comprehensive and modern tire line-up, the company will also present its interpretation of tires for electric and hybrid cars. With a narrow silhouette and wide diameter, the Hankook Kinergy Eco concept tire is designed to fit the new generation of light-weight car bodies.

“Future transportation concepts will require innovative and smart solutions, especially from the tire industry,” explains Jin-Wook Choi, Hankook Tire Europe’s executive vice-president and COO. “In motorsports, we continuously prove how well-performing tires contribute to the overall performance of a vehicle. With our new premium products, our concept tire for electric and hybrid vehicles as well as possibly the most modern tire line-up in the industry, we offer the IAA visitors insights into the world of Hankook’s environmentally friendly, high quality tires and provide a preview on the future of individual traffic.”
