July 29, 2011

Currie hit the track hard Saturday night, ready to battle it out in PRO Light. He shot out to first place early on, and refused to back down, leaving his competitors in a cloud of dust. The other drivers scrambled to close the gap between themselves and Currie, but were unable to push past him. Holding strong, Currie didn't give up his spot at the head of the pack for the entire 20-lap race. He soared across the finish line, taking home first place.

"The TORC Series is like home to me," said an elated Currie as he took the podium in Concord Saturday. "I set out here to win, and that's exactly how I plan to finish the weekend - on top. I've had such great support from General Tire and I couldn't have done it without them."

On both Friday and Saturday night, there was palpable excitement in the air as the crowd braced itself for the open race- Pro Light. Starting out as a three-way battle for the top spot, Currie's competition was fierce. Friday's race: after one of the driver's lost control and flipped over, the yellow flag was waved and Currie and the other top two leaders were now bumper-to-bumper. After the restart, Currie pushed ahead stealing first and topping the podium for the second time this weekend.
