Continental announces consumer tire price increases

Dec. 24, 2003

Continental Tire North America Inc. will raise consumer tire prices on all its brands effective Feb. 1.

In a letter to its dealers, Continental announced that due to escalating raw material costs, prices on its Continental, General and private brand passenger and light truck tires will be raised anywhere from 3% to 6%.

The percentage will vary "by market line and/or size," according to a company spokesperson.

Earlier this month, Continental increased its medium/heavy truck and OTR tire prices from 3% to 5%.
