Marangoni Tread North America Inc. (MTNA) has started building its first manufacturing plant in the United States.
The Madison, Tenn., facility will produce MTNA's spliceless, precure Ringtread product.
It is expected to begin manufacturing during the second quarter of 2004.
"We've actually tripled our business in the last two years, so this additional capacity will be much needed as we continue to grow and expand our business," says MTNA President and CEO Bill Sweatman.
Adding manufacturing in the U.S. represents a $10 million investment and "is part of a longer-term global development and expansion plan, which includes expansion of products, programs and manufacturing."
MTNA currently has 12 Ringtread licensees in the U.S. and two in Canada, with an additional two dealers to be signed within the next two months.
