Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has been chosen by Volvo to be the truck manufacturer's major tire supplier in North America, Goodyear officials announced this afternoon.
"This is a three-year deal," says Goodyear Chairman Bob Keegan. "It's a significant amount of business."
In addition, Goodyear's existing agreement with Mack Trucks has been extended for three more years.
The Akron, Ohio-based tiremaker is pursuing business with Volvo in other parts of the world as well.
