Bridgestone to supply tires for PT Coupe concept car

Nov. 6, 2003

Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire LLC (BFNT) is providing tires for the Chrysler PT Coupe Concept vehicle, which debuted yesterday at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

The vehicle is the product of a design partnership between DaimlerChrysler and Decoma International, an exterior parts manufacturer and a leader in specialty vehicle design, engineering, build and assembly.

The PT Coupe Concept features a monochromatic color scheme and is lowered as much as possible while still fitting a large plus-sized tire and wheel package into the wheel wells.

The vehicle is shod with Bridgestone brand Potenza S-03 Pole Position performance tires in size 245/45R19 and features custom wheels from Colorado Custom of Ft. Collins, Colo.

The Bridgestone Potenza S-03 is available in many popular large-rim diameter performance sizes and feature Bridgestone/Firestone’s UNI-T AQII technology, which includes a dual-layer tread compound that maintains wet and dry traction, even as the tire wears.

"We are very pleased to have been chosen to supply tires for this exciting new concept vehicle," said Michael Martini, president, OE Consumer Tire, BFNT. "This continues the close relationship between Bridgestone/Firestone and the original equipment manufacturers. Our goal is to be the first tire choice when the OEMs are creating these show and concept vehicles."
