Bridgestone Corp. has signed an original equipment contract with Subaru of America Inc.'s parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan.
Bridgestone will supply its Potenza RE070 ultra-high performance tire for the 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX-STi. The W-rated tire size is 225/45R17.
The tire is described as a "max-traction summer tire" by Bridgestone. "Our engineers worked with Subaru to design an asymmetrical tread pattern, which was specially tuned to this application," says Michael Martini, president, OE Consumer Tire, for Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tie LLC.
