Lexington, Ky.-based S&S Firestone Inc. and Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. have donated $100,000 to the University of Kentucky's Pediatric Oncology Clinic.
The gift brings the University of Kentucky close to its goal of raising $650,000 to complete the first phase of its pediatric clinic renovations.
"With the new Pediatric Oncology Clinic, we will be able to improve patient care," says a University of Kentucky representative.
"We are honored to help the children of central Kentucky live longer, healthier and more prosperous lives," says S&S Firestone President Paul Swentzel.
S&S Firestone is the 34th largest independent tire store chain in North America, according to Modern Tire Dealer data.
