Pirelli announces two OE fitments

March 17, 2003

Pirelli Tire North America will supply the 2003 Dodge Ram SRT-10 with Scorpion Zeros. They are the first MIRS-produced sport-utility tires to be supplied to an original equipment vehicle manufacturer in the United States.

The new Ram is "Viper powered," with an 8.3-liter, 500 horsepower V-10 engine that also can be found in the 2003 Dodge Viper. Pirelli will supply 305/40R22 114W XL Scorpion Zeros manufactured at its MIRS (Modular Integrated Robotized System) plant in Rome, Ga.

The new Scorpion Zero has a broad tread, low sidewalls and a tread pattern comprised of curved and asymmetric sipes with broad longitudinal channels forming an unending "Z" at its center. There also is a yellow scorpion vulcanized into the tire's sidewall.

Pirelli's P Zero Rosso also was named the exclusive OE tire on the BMW Schnitzer 7 Series by AC Schnitzer. The vehicle has size 265/30ZR22 tires on the front and 295/25ZR22 tires on the rear.
