Federal-Mogul Corp.'s plants in Van Wert, Ohio; Summerton, S.C.; and Frankfort, Ind., have received the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) Safety and Health Improvement Program Award.
The award recognizes RMA-member companies for making safety and health advancements in the workplace, according to RMA officials.
"Awards are determined by measuring the incident rate for lost workday cases based on data supplied in an annual survey by the RMA to determine the extent of workplace safety improvements."
The Federal-Mogul facilities honored produce sealing components like oil and transmission seals, wear rings and gaskets. They employ more than 2,200 people altogether.
