Ingersoll-Rand introduces titanium impact wrench

Feb. 13, 2003

Ingersoll-Rand Co. Ltd. has introduced its IR2135Ti 1/2-inch Ultra-Duty Impact Wrench, "the world's first commercially available impact wrench featuring the use of titanium for strength and weight savings," the company says.

The IR2135Ti will loosen a nut tightened to 1,000 ft/lbs. in 6 seconds, notes the company. It has 700 ft/lbs. of traditional torque output.

Weighing just 3.95 pounds, the compact IR2135Ti features easy-to-use forward/reverse pushbuttons for one-handed control and a professional touch trigger for smooth power delivery.

In addition, the IR2135Ti incorporates an ergonomically designed handle and textured grip for maximum comfort. The ergonomic design, combined with precision tool balancing, reduces fatigue during extended use.

The IR2135Ti also is available with an optional two-inch extended anvil (model IR2135Ti-2), ideal for wheel and tire service, adds Ingersoll-Rand.
