Hawley joins DSP management team

Jan. 7, 2015

Dealer Strategic Planning Inc. (DSP) has added Bruce Hawley, a former O.K. Tire Stores Inc. executive, to its staff. Hawley’s role will be to help facilitate the member meetings and recruit independent retailers to join DSP’s 20 groups.

DSP now serves store owners representing nearly 375 retail outlets in the U.S. and Canada.

Hawley, formerly O.K. Tire Store’s national manager of consumer products, is a 35-year-tire industry veteran. He joined British Columbia-based O.K. Tire Stores in 2002 as director of dealer development. His role expanded to sales in Western Canada. In 2007, Hawley was given the responsibility of growing sales to OK Tire Stores 270-plus retail locations and over 2,000 wholesale customers.

He also worked for Bridgestone, where he served as regional sales manager for Ontario, Canada, national manager of the Tirestarz dealer program, and director of the company’s retail division in Canada.

“Bruce’s accomplishments throughout his career show that he’s a proven contributor to any operation he joins,” says Norm Gaither, DSP founder and owner.  “We have high expectations to use Bruce’s expertise to keep improving our offering and value to our customers.”

Hawley says the decision to join DSP was easy. “I still have lots of passion for improving operations and find this business exciting and rewarding. When Norm called me to consider joining, it didn’t take me long to decide to extend my career along a different path. I am looking forward to meeting all of DSP’s clients as they begin 2015’s cycle of meetings.”

DSP offers tire and automotive service dealers the opportunity to share best practices, benchmark against the industry and improve financial performance.   Each group allows a maximum of 20 dealers who meet three times a year to help each other improve their business performance.

Formed in 2007, Dealer Strategic Planning is the only tire-focused 20 group available in the industry. For more information, contact: Norm Gaither, 757-301-9897 or [email protected] or Pat Brown, 419-420-5915 or [email protected]
