Registration Still Open For TIA CTS/ATS Courses

Oct. 7, 2019

There's still time to enroll in the Tire Industry Association's (TIA) 2019 Certified Commercial Training Service (CTS) and Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) instructor classes.

The four-day, hands-on courses are designed to educate students about proper tire service safety procedures, qualifying them to certify tire technicians in the field.

The Certified CTS program covers all aspects of commercial tire service, including OSHA standards, mounting/demounting, wheel installation and torque, road service, balance and repair.

The Certified ATS program provides comprehensive, in-depth instruction on recommended procedures for servicing passenger and light truck tires. "The class also includes an exclusive module on Tire Conditions Analysis that use images from TIA's Passenger and Light Truck Tire Conditions Manual to educate technicians on the most likely reasons for common, irregular tread wear patterns," say TIA officials.

Upcoming Certified CTS instructor classes are: Oct. 22-25 (Denver, Colo.), Nov. 12-15 (Chicago, Ill.), and Nov. 19-22 (Baltimore, Md.)

Upcoming Certified ATS instructor classes are Nov. 12-15 (Baltimore, Md.) and Dec. 10-13 (Detroit, Mich.)
