Escondido, Calif.-based Evans Tire & Service Center Inc. is installing free engine air filters to the first 1,500 San Diego residents who visit one of the company's 16 locations.
Evans Tire decided to make the filters available in the aftermath of wildfires that have swept through the San Diego area.
"The foreign particles and excessive smoke in the San Diego air may have clogged air filters, causing a loss of efficiency and performance to cars," says Evans Tire President John Andonian.
"We want to do all we can to help the community because we're part of the community."
Evans Tire is promoting the campaign through TV and print advertisements.
