Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has unveiled the Continental HSL2, a heavy-duty, long haul steer tire for the North American market.
"The HSL2 is the first in a series of the next generation fuel efficient (medium truck) tires (from CTNA) to be launched," say CTNA officials.
The truck tire contains a new tread compound "which provides a significant increase in removal miles along with the qualities necessary to increase fuel economy."
It also contains CTNA's patented FlexLock technology, available only on Continental tire products. "This feature offers an interlocking mechanism that promotes even tread wear across the footprint and increases stability."
Other features include CTNA's Visual Alignment Indicators located on the tire's shoulder ribs. The indicators allow users to visually identify irregularities within the first 5/32-inch of tire wear.
The HSL2 is available in the following sizes: 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 275/80R22.5 and 285/75R24.5
