Am-Pac Tire Distributors has signed a seven-year lease for a new, 42,000-square-foot distribution center in Shafter, Calif., near Bakersfield.
The center will be located inside the International Trade and Transportation Center in Shafter.
"We're expanding into Bakersfield," says Ed Mangola, Am-Pac's national marketing director.
Previously, the company shipped tires to its customers in Bakersfield from a warehouse in Fresno and another in Simi Valley, Calif.
The Bakersfield warehouse is scheduled to open next month. It will bring Am-Pac's total number of distribution centers up to 28, says Mangola.
