Russian tiremakers discuss common issues in Moscow

The biggest tiremakers in Russia recently met in Moscow to discuss the state of the tire industry in that country and common challenges they face.

Participants included representatives from Sibur-Russian Tyres, Amtel (parent company of Vredestein Banden B.V.), RTI-Kauchuk, and Nizhnekamskshina Group Tadem, in addition to Groupe Michelin and Nokian Tyres plc, both of which operate in Russia.

Topics covered included tire industry-related legislation, technology installation, and tire recycling, among others.

A task group also was formed "in order to prepare fair analytical information about the Russian tire and rubber market... and development of technical regulations in the tire and rubber industries," according to reports.
