Discount Tire expands to 26 states

Discount Tire Co. has expanded operations to 26 states with the opening of two stores in Missouri. The new stores are in Belton and Liberty, Mo., with a third store scheduled to open in Kansas City this fall.

The Belton store is operated by seven employees, and the Liberty store has 10.

Tony Bierle, manager of the LIberty store, has been with the company for 18 years. Jack Pugh manages the Belton store and has been with the company for nine years.

Bruce Halle, founder and chairman of Discount Tire, was inducted into the Tire Industry Association (TIA) Hall of Fame in 2012.

The company does business under the trade name Discount Tire in most of the U.S. and America’s Tire in Oregon, and parts of Washington and California.

In May, Discount Tire opened new stores in Cottonwood, Ariz., and San Angelo, Texas.

The company is No. 2 on the 2012 MTD 100.
