Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has established Yokohama Tire Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd., which will begin activities in July.
The new company is based in Bangkok, Thailand. "It is capitalized at 200 million baht (approximately 600 million yen) with a full investment by Yokohama Rubber," say Yokohama officials.
"In Thailand, sales of Yokohama brand tires, mainly those for high-performance passenger car tires, are rapidly increasing."
In the past, Yokohama has sold its tires through local tire distributors in Thailand.
"The company has, however, found it necessary to establish its own tire sales company so as to further expand sales of passenger car tires and strengthen sales of truck/bus tires and light truck tires" made in Thailand.
