Goodyear execs: 'Our strategy is working'

Jan. 31, 2013

This year's Goodyear Dealer Conference, held in Washington, D.C., was patterned after the last few meetings.

(There was one difference: Major League Baseball hall of famer Cal Ripken gave the motivational speech. "You can't accomplish anything from the sidelines," he said. "Get in the game.")

Coming off two consecutive years of profitability -- yes, the company is expected to finish in the black in 2012 -- Goodyear promoted the same message it has pushed since Chairman, CEO and President Rich Kramer took over for Bob Keegan in 2010.

To find out what Goodyear's message is, courtesy of both Kramer and North American Tire President Steve McClellan, check out Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich's latest blog, "Goodyear dealer conference: behind the scenes." You'll also find out what some of the dealers in attendance had to say.

After reading the blog, if you want to let us know what you think of Goodyear's strategy, or anything else Ulrich wrote about, leave a comment!
