Lewiston, Maine-based VIP Parts, Tires & Service is completely overhauling its computer system, John Quirk, the company's CEO and president, has told moderntiredealer.com. "It's a $4 million investment."

The chain, which has 56 locations, has upgraded to a new IBM mainframe "and has spent a ton of money on a new software replenishment system."

"We also are in the process of building out the functionality of a brand new point of sale system," says Quirk.

VIP Parts, Tires & Service is the 12th largest independent tire store chain in the United States, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.
