Federal Tire Corp. has rolled out a new winter tire, the Himalaya SUV, which is available in a sizes ranging from 16 inches to 18 inches in diameter.
The T-rated tire has been designed "for drivers looking for traction and winter safety in slippery, iced conditions," according to Federal officials.
"The tire features a squarish tread block and newly developed silica rubber compound, which increases (its) contact patch." Longitudinal groove patterns are intended "to deliver sure-footed traction and straight line stability on snowy pavement."
Other features include a jointless nylon brand for greater uniformity and ledges within grooves to ensure slush expulsion.
