Team Toyo sweeps Pro 4 podium both days at Crandon

June 23, 2009

Toyo Tires rocked the legendary Crandon International Off-Road Raceway during rounds 5 & 6 of TORC (The Off-Road Championship) Series this past weekend by sweeping the Pro 4X4 Truck class podium both days.  Rick Huseman, driver of the No. 36 Monster Energy/Traxxas/Toyota/Toyo Tires Tundra, was the back-to-back winner.  Kyle and father Curt LeDuc drove their Rockstar/Makita/Ford Trucks/Toyo Tires F-150 trucks to back-to-back second and third place finishes… all competitors were running on 35X12.50R17 Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires.

Huseman is having a dominant 2009 season in Pro 4X4, winning five out of the six races in TORC’s inaugural season and firmly leading the class championship.  In addition, he has won five Oakley Bomb Run Awards for being the top qualifier in his class.

“Unlike previous races at Crandon where the surface would become packed, there was a lot of loose dirt this weekend… but our Toyo tires still worked great,” said Huseman.  “At the end of the race, there was still so much tread left, it looked like you could run them again.”

At the same time, Curt LeDuc had good reason to celebrate Father’s Day with podium finishes for him and both of his sons.  In addition to Curt and Kyle’s Pro 4 X4 podiums, Todd LeDuc scored back-to-back second place finishes in the Pro 2WD Truck class with his No. 3 Rockstar/Makita/Ford Trucks/Toyo Tires F-150.  Both LeDuc brothers are number two in championship points for their respective classes.

“We congratulate all of our Team Toyo drivers for their outstanding finishes this past weekend whether in the dirt or on the pavement,” said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.
