Pathway Polymers sells PUMA Polymers division

June 2, 2009

Pathway Polymers Inc. has sold its PUMA Polymers division to James Sowersby, former chief strategy officer for Pathway, and Gerret Peters Jr., former president of Pathway.

PUMA Polymers develops and sells a variety of specialized urethane products, bonding agents, mold release, acrylic modified gypsum and paints. The PUMA business will continue to operate at its current location in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Pathway Polymers will retain its Tolling and TyrFil Divisions including its traditional TyrFil Flatproofing, TyrLiner, TyrKast, Sealant and Ballast product lines together with its AutoFil and TrioFil recycler machines for use in industrial and construction tires.

Pathway Polymers will continue to offer its complete “One Stop Shop” portfolio of flatproofing products and equipment both directly to original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket through commercial tire dealers, the company says.

Joseph Danules, CEO of Pathway Polymers, says, “This sale is a real win-win for both companies. It allows Pathway Polymers to continue its focus on its core flatproofing and tolling markets worldwide while maintaining its innovator and leadership position in these markets. Likewise, it allows the PUMA Polymers group to better focus on its key target markets.”
