Conti will keep 'production cell' in Hanover

Order Reprints

Continental AG says it will maintain a "production cell" of approximately 500,000 tires at its commercial tire plant in Hanover, Germany.

The cell will be maintained through the end of 2010.

In June 2010, a decision will be made on whether or not the cell will continue into 2011, say Continental officials.

Continental had already announced plans to suspend commercial tire production at the factory at the end of 2009 "due to the massive drop in demand" for those products.
