Monro Muffler Brake Inc. remains "cautiously optimistic about our prospects for the remainder of the fiscal year 2009," says Monro Chairman and CEO Robert Gross.

"We remain on track to deliver our eighth consecutive year of positive comparable store sales results."

In addition, Gross says, the company "will continue to actively evaluate the competitive landscape and pursue additional acquisitions when we believe purchase prices are at appropriate levels."

Monro recently posted record sales of $118.7 million for the third quarter of its 2009 fiscal year.
