Hankook opens distribution center in Chicago area

April 16, 2008

Hankook Tire America Corp. has opened a distribution center in Aurora, Ill., a Chicago suburb, the company's sixth distribution center in the United States. The warehouse gives customers "will call" delivery service.

"The addition of a Chicago distribution location allows us to better serve the Chicago metro area," says J.R. Nottolini, Hankook's midwest regional director.

"Will call is now possible in this region, allowing dealers to have products in their hands the next day (and) providing them with a wider variety of just-in-time inventory at their disposal."

Bill Bainbridge, director of brand communications for Hankook, said the company "strategically chose the Chicago area for this new distribution center to allow us to better respond to customer needs in the Midwest."

The warehouse also will serve Hankook dealers at other locations throughout the Midwest.

Since March 2006, Hankook has expanded two of its other distribution facilities, one in Dallas, Texas, and another in Edison, N.J.
