Singapore Minister of State for Trade and Industry Lee Yi Shyan will officially open the Tyrexpo Asia 2009 exhibition as guest of honor at the Singapore Expo Centre on March 24.

Show organizers ECI International's managing director Paul Farrant says, "We are extremely grateful to the minister for agreeing to be our principal guest of honor; his involvement will add to the sense of occasion at the opening event as well as signifying the economic importance the Singapore government attaches to the expo.”

Also appearing with the minister at the official opening will be Dr. Hidde Smit, secretary-general of the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG), which is staging its World Rubber Summit during the three-day exhibition

Keynote speakers at the IRSG Summit will include, among others, Dr. RP Singhania, CEO, J.K.Tyres, India; Adam Jones from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Singapore; Fan Rende, president of the China Rubber Industry Association; and Jeffrey Currie, managing director, Goldman Sachs, UK. As a result of the co-operation between the two events, Tyrexpo Asia delegates will be able to tap into the knowledge and expertise of these leading figures, reports ECI International.

More than 120 exhibitors have confirmed their involvement at Tyrexpo, representing tire and rubber manufacturers, distributors, retreaders, equipment and service suppliers from around the globe, including first-time exhibitors from both Vietnam and Belarus.
