Cooper debuts namesake Zeon XSTA premium all-season sport truck tire

April 7, 2008

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s new Cooper Zeon XSTA is designed for light trucks, SUVs and crossover vehicles.

Billed as a "luxurious, all-season premium sport truck tire," the M&S-rated Zeon XSTA integrates technology from Cooper's all-weather performance lines. It features the following:

* an asymmetric, all-season tread design, which utilizes two distinct tread patterns and a reinforced tread compound that optimize dry and all-season traction.

* inner circumferential and transverse grooves designed to evacuate water.

* state-of-the-art ventless technology, which provides a crisp, clean, premium appearance, according to the company.

* a continuous, offset center rib design for high-speed stability and grip.

This tire is initially being offered in nine V-rated, 18- through 24-inch sizes. The tires are produced at the company's Texarkana, Ark., manufacturing facility.

Cooper also will also introduce 11 additional sizes, including 15- and 16-inch H-rated sizes and 17-inch V-rated sizes in the third quarter of 2008.
