DENSO subsidiary celebrates the grand opening of its newest plant

April 7, 2008

DENSO Corp. officials and associates recently celebrated the grand opening of a fourth Tennessee manufacturing plant, located in Maryville. Many Tennessee dignitaries, including the governor, were on hand.

The new plant includes production lines transferred from subsidiary DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee's existing electronic products plant and will focus entirely on body electronics: remote keyless entry, auto air conditioning control units, tire pressure monitoring systems and body control modules.

In addition to Governor Phil Bredesen, Tennessee Economic and Community Development Commissioner Matt Kisber, members of the state legislature, and the mayors of Maryville, Alcoa and Blount County were present.

"As we continue to expand our operations in Maryville, we prioritize our focus on providing quality parts for our customers and strengthening our contributions to the economic well-being of our community," says Atsuhiko "Art" Shimmura, president of DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee.
