Continental AG is restructuring its Powertrain Division "with the aim of optimizing production," says Karl-Thomas Neumann, a member of the firm's board.
Part of that objective will be achievement of "a much better balance between high-cost and low-cost locations. The aim... is to bring ourorganization, production, quality and reliability" up to the same level attained by the division's "high end products."
The process will combine three business units - Diesel Systems, Gasoline Systems and Electronics - into a single unit.
As part of the restructuring, Neumann will assume operational responsibility for the division.
