Continental AG is interested in acquiring Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s Engineered Products division, a spokesman from Continental's world headquarters in Hanover, Germany, told moderntiredealer.com today.
"It would make sense," he says. "It would be a very good fit for our ContiTech division."
Yesterday, Goodyear revealed that its Engineered Products unit is up for sale and will be "marketed" this quarter.
"We will have contact with Goodyear," says the Continental spokesman.
Goodyear has not commented on any potential Engineered Products buyers.
