The Bridgestone Greatec wide-base truck tire has been added to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWay list of certified tires.
The Greatec joins four Bridgestone brand commercial truck tires that were approved for EPA-certified SmartWay tractors and trailers last summer.
"Tires that earn EPA SmartWay certification must achieve at least 3% better fuel economy than the average new tire," say BFNT officials.
The SmartWay program, which was established in 2004, helps fleets "make the right choices when (selecting) tires for optimum fuel efficiency."
