Goodyear announces new fuel efficient truck tires

Feb. 7, 2006

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s recently unveiled Fuel Max medium truck tires will be available later this year, says Steve McClellan, vice president of Goodyear's commercial tire systems.

The tires are designed to maximize fuel efficiency and "are timely" since, according to Goodyear estimates, the trucking industry spent more than $88 billion on fuel in 2005, 33% more than what was spent during the previous year.

Fuel Max tires will include:

* the G395 Fuel Max, a steer tire;

* the G305 Fuel Max, a drive position tire;

* the G316 Fuel Max, a trailer tire.

Goodyear also will introduce new Dunlop brand mixed service truck tires during 2006, which will give Goodyear truck tire dealers "a full second tier product line-up."
