Replacement high performance tire shipments in the United States increased 5% in 2005 compared to the previous year, according to Modern Tire Dealer's 2006 Facts Issue.
However, ultra-high performance (UHP) tire shipments increased 14% to 14.8 million units. In the last six years, replacement UHP shipments have increased 144%.
The most popular replacement UHP size is 225/45R17; the most popular original equipment size is 215/55R17.
