Apollo Tyres Ltd. launched its XTrax giant earthmover tire at the 11th International Mining and Machinery Exhibition (IMME) in Salt Lake, Kolkata, India. The event runs from Dec. 5-8, 2012.

Designed for use on in 240-ton dumper trucks used for mining purposes, the tires are cured at Apollo’s Limda, India, plant in the western state of Gujarat. Each tire is manufactured using 1,900 kg of rubber, 750 kg of carbon black, 350 kg of nylon fabric and 500 kg of other rubber chemicals.
