Tires affected the outcome in two big races

May 28, 2012

One day, two big races in the world of motorsports. And the tires had a lot to do with the outcomes.

At the 96th Indianapolis 500, Bridgestone Americas Inc. was trying out a new Firestone tire.

The emotional race, which was held during Memorial Day weekend, honored last year's winner Dan Wheldon, who died following a crash in the last race of the 2011 IZOD IndyCar series season.

In Monoco, the wide-open 2012 FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) Formula One World Championship crowned its first two-time winner of the year. One of the keys was the Pirelli P Zero Red supersoft tire.
