Sullivan Tire helps military families in May

May 1, 2012

For the second year in a row, Sullivan Tire Co. Inc. has partnered with the Sudbury Military Support Network (SMSN) in May, during National Military Appreciation Month. Their goal is to raise money and awareness for the local organization.

For every tire sold at Sullivan Tire’s Sudbury location (475 Boston Post Rd .) from April 30 through May 12, the company will donate $5 to the local SMSN. Additionally, on May 12 there will be an in-store event to celebrate the fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event will include free refreshments such as coffee, bagels and calzones from Sudbury Coffee Works and games for kids. Prizes and giveaways will include Sullivan Tire gift cards, Sullivan Tire coupons, movie passes, “Misty the Dog” stuffed animals, frisbees, and an “enter to win” raffle for Red Sox tickets.

SMSN is a community-based, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to supporting, honoring and recognizing all past and present Sudbury, Mass., residents who have served in the military. It also helps their families.

“Nothing pleases us more than to give back to the community through an organization that helps such a great cause, our local veterans and their families,” says Paul Sullivan, vice president of marketing for Sullivan Tire, which does business as Sullivan Tire & Auto Service.

“The Sullivan Tire sponsorship allows us to use our funds to recognize, support and appreciate our service members throughout the year. We can't thank them enough for their enthusiastic endorsement of our efforts!” says Patty Houpt, founder of SMSN.
