TireVigil InTow helps commercial fleet operators control operating and fuel costs

Feb. 7, 2008

TireStamp Corp. is marketing TireVigil InTow to commercial fleet operators who are plagued with trailer tire problems.

Developed by the company's engineering staff in Ottawa, Canada, TireVigil InTow is designed to continuously monitor trailer tires, whether they are rolling down the highway, being dropped off at a customer's location, or being serviced. It gives fleet operators total control over tire management, and assists them in managing escalating tire operating and maintenance costs, labor costs and fuel costs that reduce roadside delays and improve safety.

"Trailer tires are the least maintained tires on a tractor-trailer rig due to their general lack of driver attention and restricted availability for inspection and maintenance," says the company. "As a result, trailer tires comprise 75% of 'enroute' tire failures, which are caused by chronic under-inflation and penetrating objects."

Utilizing tire data collected from tire pressure sensors and wireless technology, TireVigil InTowtire transmits pressure and temperature data via trailer asset management telematics devices to TireVigil in-house servers. TireVigil's tire management software can alert the fleet manager about critical trailer tire information from an Internet -accessible computer at anytime and from anywhere, according to the company.

TireVigil InTow is a subscription-based service ideally suited for commercial fleets, private fleets and trailer-leasing companies. It is available through leading telematics suppliers, OEM's and systems integrators throughout the United States and Canada.
