Yokohama Rubber Co, Ltd. has signed a multi-year OTR tire supply contract with Toronto, Ontario-based global mining company Barrick Gold Corp.
Yokohama will deliver 1,300 tires a year to Barrick starting next year and running through 2018.
Barrick Gold owns 30 mines throughout the world and is aggressively expanding its mining operation to meet rapidly-growing demand for gold, say Yokohama officials.
"The OTR tires (that will go) to Barrick are for use with 100- to 250-ton class dump trucks that will operate mainly in open-pit mines."
