Jan. 18, 2012

Marangoni Tread North America Inc. has made quite a name for itself in Tennessee since moving there from California almost 10 years ago.

The state recently recognized the Madison, Tenn.-based company for its contributions. Twice.

U.S. Representative Jim Cooper (5th District), recently presented to Marangoni CEO and President Bill Sweatman Special Congressional Recognition "for outstanding contributions to the economic development of the State of Tennessee."

Cathy McKellar, representing The Old Hickory Area Chamber of Commerce, presented Marangoni with its 2011 Momentum Award for "exceptional" standards of success. "Marangoni Tread is exactly the kind of company we want to attract to our area, she said.

In order to meet the growing demands of the commercial truck tire market, Marangoni completed  a $10 million plant expansion last year, which added 42 manufacturing jobs to the Middle Tennessee area. Marangoni employs 82 people in Madison.

"Marangoni Tread North America upholds a strong brand, known for its dedication to quality and its commitment to independent retreaders and commercial dealers in North America," said Sweatman. "We chose Middle Tennessee for its location, but we made the decision to grow, expand and invest here because of the people.”

On Sept. 9, 2011, Marangoni celebrated the production of its two millionth RingTread in Madison. For more information, visit www.marangoni-na.com.
